Israel Studies

The academic field of Israel Studies promotes the study of the modern state of Israel through teaching, scholarship, and research. Its aim is to study all facets of the modern state of Israel focusing on the history, politics, culture, and economics of contemporary Israeli society as well as on Israeli technological and scientific scholarship.

The Crown Family Center offers a selection of courses about Israel in the undergraduate curriculum and sponsors events of interest to students, faculty, and the general public. Academic courses analyze economic, cultural and technological aspects of Israeli society as well as Israel's political history and foreign relations. Israel studies events include thematic conferences, lectures by visiting academics, film screenings, and other opportunities to directly encounter Israeli culture in its many forms.
