Grace Overbeke featured in series on Jewish American Women in Comedy

Jewish Studies Graduate Cluster Fellow Grace Kessler Overbeke and Noah Gardenswartz, writer for the Emmy-award winning TV series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, recently presented "From Jean Carroll to Mrs. Maisel: Jewish Women Comedians as Inspiration" at an event sponsored by the American Jewish Historical Society in New York City. Their talk was part of the lecture series Not Just Funny Girl: Jewish American Women in Comedy co-sponsored by the Center for Jewish History, the Forward, and the Jewish Women's Archive. Grace is a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary Program in Theatre and Drama, writing her dissertation on the stand-up comedian Jean Carroll.
